Prior to her accident, school always played a significant role in Samantha's life. She encouraged young people to make positive life choices by choosing higher education and creating the life of their dreams. All the while, Samantha herself was a stellar student who maintained a 3.85 GPA while taking honors classes. It was clear that Samantha loved school and had a desire to succeed – a desire that still exists within her today.

Samantha completed her IED with the state of California in June 2011, which included homeschooling and participating in a transitional classroom setting at Mt. San Antonio College. She is now continuing to take specific classes at Mt. SAC and has her sights set on the Acquired Brain Injury program at Coastline Community College.
